Australia's youngest, brightest and most sought-after
standup comedian, Joel Creasey gets
ready to bare all at the Sydney Comedy
Festival – Thursday 26, Friday 27 and Saturday 28 Apri...l 2012 at 7:30pm .
Joel is afraid
of a lot. Be it snakes, heights or Tony Abbott, he can usually be found
cowering behind the couch. One thing Joel hates more than anything though is
nudity. Which is stupid, we've all got 'one'. Joel as he gets naked, conquers
his fears and reveals all.
Starting out on
the Perth comedy circuit at only 17 before moving on to being nominated Best Newcomer at Melbourne Comedy Festival and critically
acclaimed Political Animal show's sold out status, there is no doubt
Joel is one of comedy’s hottest rising stars.

Sing-A-Long-A Sound Of Music is on today
| Time: |
7:30 PM - 11:30 PM |
| Location: |
State Theatre, 49 Market Street Sydney 2000 |
Lovers of The Sound of Music (and what’s not to love?) join in an unforgettable interactive experience and tribute to the film that continues to have millions of hearts swelling.
See the cl...assic movie on the big screen, re-mastered to its original cinematic glory. Admit it, you know the words – and if you don’t there are song-sub-titles so EVERYONE can sing a-long! Sing-A-Long –A Sound of Music is an audience participation event where the celebrity host leads a vocal warm-up, gives a guide to the use of the interactive fun pack and accompanying actions and (with a little help from the audience) judges the Costume Parade – a highlight of the night that separates the die-hards from the dabblers!
An overwhelming force takes over, as delirious fans cheer on Julie Andrews, wolf-whistle Christopher Plummer, hiss the Baroness and boo the Nazis! And who could forget the glorious moment when Maria and the Captain finally kiss? Not to mention the experience of 2000 party poppers going off simultaneously as their lips touch!
The costumes are truly inspiring. A sea of black and white floods the foyer of the State Theatre year after year as fans eagerly dressed as nuns gather for the show and sing a few of their favourite songs. Audience members have dressed as anything and everything from the movie…. Maria, girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, Plumbers (Christopher Plummers!) the Alps, brown paper packages tied up with string, goats (with or without lonely goatherds), larks that are learning to pray – the possibilities are endless….. limited only by your imagination.
So what are you waiting for? Frock up for the ultimate musical affirmation; a celebration of nature, spirituality, love, family, patriotism, and goodness, combined with perfectly pitched songs, and the screen presence of feisty, Julie Andrews.
Round up your favourite friends, take your vows, and tear down the curtains, clear your throats, fill your lungs and take your seats to become stars of the world’s favourite musical.

Extend the goodwill of Christmas all year long, and give hope to endangered Orangutans, by purchasing an adoption gift through the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) at www.orangutans.com.au this Christm...as.
The Christmas gift that keeps on giving will make a huge difference to the lives of Orangutans in Borneo, with all money donated to the volunteer run BOS Australia going directly to their care and rehabilitation.
With forest habitat being decimated, orangutans killed (and even eaten), as well as being trafficked and sold as pets, the work BOS undertakes is critical for the survival of this endangered species. But, caring for sick and miss-treated Orangutans is not cheap. The 846 orangutans in the care of BOS’s rehabilitation centre’s eat more than four tones of food per day, meaning the grocery bill alone is close to AUD $47,000 each month.
Helping BOS help the orangutans can cost as little as $12per month to adopt playful Miko or Nita. Alternatively a gift certificate can be purchased….$25 to help get the babies to forest school, and up to $100 for much needed vet care.
To adopt Miko or Nita, or to check out the range of gift certificates, go to www.orangutans.com.au
NB: High res images of Miko and Nita are available, along with images of BOS certificates
CLICK AND SAVE….ORANGUTANS
This week the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) are launching a new way to help endangered orangutans in Borneo. Themed gift certificates will be only a click away online at www.orangutans.com.au, at a variety of price points….the perfect gift for all occasions.
• Can’t find the right Christmas gift for the person who has everything? Click and send…..a tailored gift certificate, the gift that keeps on giving, delivered direct to them – from you – for Christmas.
• Wanting to say thank to someone who’s helped you? Don’t send flowers; send a ‘gift’ that helps another. Click, and a tailored ‘thank you’ gift certificate – helping save endangered orangutans – will be sent.
• Get well….what could make you feel better than helping save an orangutan?
• Show your loved one you really care next Valentine’s Day, by loving an orangutan….
• Get your child thinking about the environment and endangered species by ordering a gift certificate together online….(or consider an adoption). The perfect reward for a good end of year report, sporting achievements….or just saying well done!
Featuring beautiful orangutan images, and personalized with the name of the recipient, the certificate options include:
• $100 Vetinary Care – This gift certificate acknowledges that you have helped fund essential veterinary treatment.
• $50 Feed and Orphan for Two Months – This gift certificate acknowledges that you have helped to feed and nourish an orphan orangutan for two months.
• $35 Enrich an Orphan’s Life - This gift certificate acknowledges that you have helped to enrich an orphan orangutan’s life.
• $25 Wheelbarrow Sponsorship – The gorgeous shot of baby orangutans in a wheelbarrow on this certificate says it all! Your contribution will help get babies to and from forest school safely.
• Purchase Rainforest – This gift certificate will help finance the reforestation of the Samboja Lestarii reserve, creating a habitat for the orangutans and fighting global warming.
Whatever the occasion, or for no reason at all, go to www.orangutans.com.au to order a certificate today.
